STUDENT RESPONSES

Student One- Timoth

A carefully constructed vision of an organization sets the tone and lays the foundation for its future. When the vision of an organization is clearly articulated to its employees, the outcome usually results in a higher quality and greater output of production (Matsuo, 2023). The vision of an organization gives a reasonable and motivating guide for the that organization to continue to pursue specific accomplishments and goals.  The vision can assist with navigating an organization towards its most significant objectives and targets, while simultaneously empowering workers to accomplish high-level production. McKenzie et al (2023) noted, effectively communicating outlooks between leaders and employees about the organization’s vision ensures expectations are met. Furthermore, the vision can assist with giving an organization an identity that fosters a special personality and culture that separates it from its competitors. This identity, culture can be the catalyst, or an asset, that captures and holds clientele as well as creating an atmosphere that encourages employees to commit to being the best amongst the opposition.

The organization’s vision, along with the mission, is part of the core values of the entity. The vision guides the organization by setting up systems and processes where internal and external communications help achieve its goals (Shanjabin & Oyshi, 2021). Communication is one of the most essential elements an organization needs to be successful. Shanjabin & Oyshi (2021) state that the organization’s direction depends on the vision and mission due to the direction the entity wants to go in the future. Organizations can be forward-thinking and stay true to their vision by being creative and innovative. The organization's vision is shared among the various stakeholders of where the organization will go to remain competitive in constantly changing industries. Employees will be highly committed to the organization when the shared vision is integral to the culture (Afsar et al., 2019). When a vision is part of the culture in the form of praxis, the stakeholders see the vision as a tangible process and more.

In the competitive business world, organizations are constantly striving to stay ahead and adapt to the ever-changing landscape (Fuertes et al., 2020). A crucial aspect of this adaptation is having a clear vision for the future (Fuertes et al., 2020). The organization’s vision is the answer to the question of what the organization aims to become in the next few years (Fuertes et al., 2020; Sletten et al., 2021). Further, the vision serves as a guiding light, providing direction and purpose to the organization's actions (Fuertes et al., 2020; Slåtten et al., 2021). When an organization has a clear vision for the future it has laid out its goals and expectations (Fuertes et al., 2020). The whole point of having a vision is to guide, direct, and motivate the entire organization towards achieving the organization’s desired state (Fuertes et al., 2020; Slåtten et al., 2021).

Having a clear vision is universally recognized as crucial for organizations (Slåtten et al., 2021). A vision not just a theoretical concept but something that holds practical value as well (Fuertes et al., 2020; Slåtten et al., 2021). Leaders have a crucial and firsthand role in crafting a vision integration (Slåtten et al., 2021). Discussing the vision statement and expecting it to naturally spread throughout the organization is not enough. According to Slåtten et al. (2021), it has been proposed that expressing a vision is not enough for leaders to gain the support and commitment of their followers (Slåtten et al., 2021). Therefore, it is crucial to prioritize the integration of organizational vision from the perspective of all stakeholders within the organization (Slåtten et al., 2021). By prioritizing the integration of the organization's vision statement, leaders can ensure that all team members are aligned and working together towards a shared objective (Slåtten et al., 2021). The stakeholders of the proposed organizational vision play an indispensable role as they hold the power to either embrace or disregard vision statements (Fuertes et al., 2020; Slåtten et al., 2021). Hence, the success of implementing the vision heavily relies on whether stakeholders accept or reject it. The acceptance of a shared vision is crucial in achieving the desired outcome and making progress towards the organization’s goals (Fuertes et al., 2020; Slåtten et al., 2021). An alignment between the vision statement and stakeholders fosters a keen sense of cohesion and leads to maximum productivity (Slåtten et al., 2021).
