Alexis Rullcoski

Hello Class and Professor,

Social workers will have a wide range of populations with the clients they work with. The client population may be diverse in race, age, and gender. They could have severe complex issues where they could be dealing with multiple conditions. Also, the population of the clients could come from vulnerable groups such as children or adults like senior citizens that have physical or mental disabilities. It is essential for a case manager to know various clients’ populations because the case manager is the one who is providing the service to the one who is in need. If they know the population of the client, it will give the manager a better insight into what resources the client may need. Having a proper understanding is a benefit to the worker because each client is unique. A worker could have a client that is disabled mentally that needs mental health treatment alongside assistance with food, housing, clothing, etc. It is critical in the care process.

I am most interested in working with the population of children. I am most interested in working with children because I believe that children are the most vulnerable people on the planet, and they need an advocate. Whether it’s being removed from homes, placement, or adoption children need adult help until they can take care of themselves. They need that figure to thrive in later life. I have had personal experience with children and the system not working in their best interest of them, so my main goal was to help children who are suffering and put them in homes where they feel safe and loved.
