Hello Class,

A social worker who specializes in the field of case management has a variety of responsibilities and duties. These services include assisting clients in locating and obtaining access to various resources, offering clients support and advocacy, and assisting clients in formulating and achieving their objectives are all part of these services. Case management is a helping process in social work because it helps clients identify their needs and secure access to the resources, they need to fulfill their goals (Brandsen & Hugen, 2007). As a result, case management is a helping process. Because the client needs to be active in any development, they need to comprehend their functionality in aiding the process (Vanderwoerd, 2011). A client who is battling an addiction, for instance, has the responsibility to seek treatment and adhere to the suggestions made by their social worker as part of their role in the case management process. Another illustration of this would be a client currently living on the streets; it is the customer's responsibility to collaborate with their social worker to locate shelter and obtain resources such as food and clothing. Finally, a social worker caring for a client who is about to leave the foster care system because they have reached the age of majority may refer the client to a case manager (Vanderwoerd, 2011). The client and the case manager will work together to facilitate the client's connection to resources and services, such as housing and financial aid, that can reduce the client's transition into adulthood.
