Introduction

Statistics shows that a quarter of Americans earn less than $10 per hour which is an income considered to be lower than the federal poverty level. Poverty is portrayed by various groups of people including cashiers, fast food workers, and nurses among other groups. On the other hand, those who recovered fast after the 2008 financial crisis are the likely ones at a higher economic class as justified by around 10% of the earners who took home half of all the income in 2012. Despite much disparity income, American’s effort to reduce this gap has enabled it to have many people’s income at an average rank compared to the past when 10% of Americans were top earners while the rest were ranked poor.

Thesis statement: Poverty and income inequality is an increasing issue across the globe, and if it does not get stopped the gap between the rich and poor will never be fixed.
