Case Study 3 – COVID-19 - PART III – DUE AT THE END OF WEEK EIGHT

Case Study 3 is due at the end of week eight (last day of classes). You have 2 weeks to work on part III

and last part of the research paper. Part III is the conclusion of Part I and II. Each part is worth 5% of

your final grade.

You will use your own case study 1 and 2 to complete part III. Part III is due at the last day of classes,

June 26, 5pm CST.

Requirements for Part III

Go to COVID Act Now at https://covidactnow.org/

When you scroll down, you will see a map of the United States. Hoover the mouse over the map to find

the state you live in. Click on the state.

You will be provided several topics and graphs. Your task is to provide an analysis of all the information

listed on the page. This means, look at the graphs, numbers, percentages, progressions and so far and

so on. You may use information from Parts I and II for comparison. You may also add the graphs on the

paper for visualization of the data. You may quote some information from the site directly, however,

no more than 10% of the case will be accepted as quotes. I am searching for your own words and

analysis.

How do I add the graphs from the site since it does not let me save the picture?

Once you are on the site and the graph is showing on your screen, do the following:

1. Press the PrtScn button on your keyboard. It will seem that nothing happened. You may even

press the key few times just to make sure that it did copy the picture of your current screen on

the computer’s memory.

2. Go to the Word document and click the mouse where you want to paste picture. Once you are

at the location chosen on the document, either click the right button of the mouse and choose

paste, or use the paste option on the ribbon under the Home Tab.

3. When you chose paste, everything that is on your screen will show on the Word document. If

you have more than 1 computer screen, it will show all of them as you can see below.

4. Click on the picture with the left button on the mouse once, and a new option will “pop” above

the ribbon at the end of the document either called Picture Format or Picture Tools (different

versions of Word will show the option in different ways). You are searching for the cropping

option.

5. Once you have adjusted all cropping handles by holding each with the left button on the

mouse, you will click outside the picture in any blank space on the Word document to complete

the action. You can also click Enter on the keyboard. Sometimes it moves the picture by

pressing Enter.

6. You may also choose the option “Wrap Text,” and choose “Behind Text” to be able to move the

picture around on the document easily. Otherwise, it will move along with the text. Make sure

that your text is further down enough, or the picture will be placed on the top of the text. If this

happens, you can select the picture and move accordingly to fit on the page and add

paragraphs to adjust the text.

Here is what the graph will look on the paper. Every time you click on the picture, you will be

given the picture format tab and you may format the picture as you wish.

Remember that by the end of the course, after week 4, we will have covered Normal Distribution,

Central Limit Theorem, Confidence Interval, Hypothesis Testing, and Correlation and Linear regression.

You may/should analyze the data from any of these perspectives.

Lastly, you will be putting the paper all together. Part I, II and III. You will make sure that the

introduction, analysis, graphs, conclusion, and references follow a smooth transition. Again, I am not

looking for 100% correct values. I am looking at your ability to present us the data and provide the

analysis.

Do I have to submit the case study 3 separately or all together? You will be submitting case study 3

within the full paper that combines Parts I, II, and III. Case study 3 is the last section of the paper

before the conclusion and references. Case study 3 (final paper) is due on June 26, 5pm CST.
