Furthermore, the medical center acts as a teaching hospital that offers accredited programs to residents and trainees from multiple other disciplines. Notably, Harbor UCLA is a pioneer of many innovations and research in the many fields of medicine. Furthermore, the medical center has been an avenue of various scientific breakthroughs, such as the first hospital in the world to achieve successful pregnancies using the ovum transfer technique. With this in mind, this paper conducts an analysis of the organization structure of Harbor UCLA medical center. Furthermore, the paper investigates different aspects of the chosen organization’s structure to form the basis of the creation of a strategic plan.

The plan to expand and develop the hospitals facilities enhances the operational efficiency of the facility. There are various departments in Harbor UCLA medical center. Each department consists of departmental heads and nurses working in underneath. The organizational structure of Harbor UCLA is diverse and made up of various clinics such as Stein Eye institution. As mentioned previously, the medical center has a extended education institution that serves different residents and individuals. The extended educational institution has its leadership and departments that run the operations of the campus.

The current key leaders in Harbor UCLA medical centers consist of Kimberly McKenzie as the Chief Executive Officer. The role of McKenzie in the organization is to lead the medical center and as member of the Board of Directors, he advises the board. Furthermore, the chief executive officer acts as the overall manager that oversees the operations of the medical center. Secondly, is Anish Mahajan acts as the Chief Medical Officer who oversees clinical operations of the medical setting. Next is Patricia Soltero who acts as the Acting Chief Nursing Officer. Soltero performs the roles of managing nurses and outpatient facilities in the medical center (County, 2013).
