SOCIAL IDENTITY PIE Building Self-Awareness to Understand How Our Identities Shape Us

Consider the following social and cultural identities: Race, ethnicity, religion/spirituality, socioeconomic class, sexual orientation, gender, ability, national origin, age, and other social identities that have meaning for you.

Complete your identity pie: Create a new “slice” for each of the above social and cultural identities. Portion your slices based on your awareness of each identity (for example, if you do not often think about your religion or spirituality, you would create a smaller slice for this area, but you might create a larger slice for race or gender, if these identities enter your awareness more often).
