Good. In future summaries, be more specific, so you can help yourself remember why you chose this source.

Step 2 – Research question responses

Use the research question you selected in Week 1 to identify three related perspectives from the articles that you identified in Step 1 of this worksheet. These perspectives should meaningfully respond to the research question you selected. Review the example below for additional guidance:

Complete the template below using the research question you selected in Week 1 and the information from the articles you selected in Step 1.

Your research question: What are three ways to resolve conflict in order to maintain a relationship. Missing question mark!

Three responses to your research question (from the articles selected):

1.Engage in a healthy communication whereby you give each other good time to speak.

2. In order to resolve a conflict, one needs to remain calm to avoiding a revenge situation.

3. Generate a list of priorities before meeting the person you are in conflict with.

1. Are these in the correct order? Should one happen before the others?

2. In the second example, use only one subtopic.

3. Be sure that you can limit these to one or two words in the future.

Step 3 – Thesis Statement

Now that you have selected a research question, located relevant scholarly information, and identified responses to the research question, you are ready to create a thesis statement.

A thesis statement incorporates the responses to the research question, and it can be seen as the ‘forecast’ of the main ideas that will be presented in the essay. Below is an example of a properly written thesis statement.

Write your thesis statement in the box below using the information from Step 2.

Your thesis statement:

Conflict management helps in the maintenance of a heathy relationshipperiod enhances peaceful environment for members of a community to live in.

the second part of this thesis does not belong. It’s not about your topic.

This looks fine if you end it where I did. You should also review how to write a three-prong thesis for future reference.

Step 4 – Topic sentences

As mentioned above, a thesis statement is a ‘forecast’ of the main ideas in the essay. Topic sentences at the beginning of each body paragraph in the essay introduce the main idea discussed in that paragraph and incorporate the responses to the research question.

In this step, you use the results from Steps 2 and 3 to develop three topic sentences. Review the example below of topic sentences that were developed from the video game idea.

Write your three topic sentences in the template below using information from your responses to the research question and your thesis statement.

Three topic sentences:

1. First, healthy communication ensures that the conflicting parties air their views thus discussing on possible resolutions couples who want to manage their relationship should give each other time to speak.

Use the specific language of your subtopics above.

2. Next, couples should eeping stay calm is essential because too much anger can widen the conflict. Okay, so this one is about staying calm and not the revenge topic.

Please make sure your topic sentences match the subtopics you listed above.

3. Finally, couples should generate a list of priorities, so they know knowing what you they will discuss in assisting you in order to concentrate on the main points of interest, period

1. Please run spell check, and write using proper sentence structure.

2. Avoid second person “you” as it points a finger at the reader, which can offend.

* In Week 3, you will use the topic sentences you have created here to further develop your essay by creating body paragraphs with additional details for each main idea.

Good work, You did a great job.

Now, it might help you to create an outline before moving into writing body paragraphs. To learn more about outlining, please go to https://ecampus.phoenix.edu/secure/aapd/CWE/pdfs/SampleOutlineV2.pdf

Plug your three key points (or subtopics) into your outline and make them the topics of your three body paragraphs. Then, fill in supporting details underneath.

Once you have a great outline, you can create body paragraphs very easily. You can also review the Youtube.com Outline Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCujEU6xZS0

Your Week 3 Assignment asks you to create body paragraphs, and you will use the template provided to help you format per APA style formatting. If you have any questions, just write me in discussion.
