Managerial Ethics Tests © 2016 South University

Ethics Tests Ethics are personal, and yet they have much larger implications in organizations. Some people have a very strong system of ethics that helps to steer their behaviors while others are still developing their ethical systems, and may be more prone to making an unethical decision. Ethics are based on your personality and personal values as well as the culture in which you are operating. For example, the ethical values of someone in the United States may differ greatly from the ethical values of someone in the Middle East. The two cultures are so different that it would be difficult for them to share the same ethical values. There are several tests that one can use to determine if something is ethical or not, such as determining whether something is legal or not. If it is not legal, it is likely not ethical. The supplemental media eight different tests that can be used to determine if something is ethical, and again, it may be based on the culture in which the organization operates in terms of what is deemed ethical or acceptable. People within the organization are required to make decisions based on their own personal ethics and values. However, these decisions that are made by individuals will have an effect on the organization as well. When leaders of the organization make unethical decisions, the organization appears unethical to the public. Therefore, it is imperative that leaders and managers in organizations keep ethics in mind when making all decisions. Although some decisions are obviously ethical or unethical, there is also a gray area when it comes to ethical decisions. When managers are not sure of whether they are making the right decision when it comes to ethics, the following tests can help them determine what the most ethical decision is. Managers can use these tests as an excellent tool during times when decisions can affect the overall reputation and ethical nature of the organization.
