Subject: | Distribution of Language translation software to china |
My research concluded that we should distribute our language translation software to China. The economy in China is one of the fastest growing in the world and is “expected to be the largest by 2030” (Intercultural communication, n.d.). China is no longer seen as a country for low cost manufacturing, because of economic expansion and smart market changes (Kermeliotis, 2011, para. 2). Good introduction
China will be a good investment if we are looking for a long-term commitment. According to Fierman, & Gendron (2015), China’s economy has shown “steady” growth around 7% since 2009 (Fierman & Gendron, 2015, para. 1). While most of the world is in a recession, it is predicted that China will remain relatively untouched and overtime be the greatest market in the world (Floyd, 2009, para. 1).
China has the highest population “making up a highly diverse market” (Kermeliotis, 2011, para. 6). Such a big population has different cultures within it and will provide many uses for our product. Kermeliotis (2011) states that because of the diverse population, China is flexible and innovative. They respect other cultures and are open to other ways of doing business (Kermeliotis, 2011). Ward and Francis state that China is learning English to “promote internationalism” (Ward & Francis, 2010, para. 1). All state employees under the age of 40 will be required to learn English and English will be taught in kindergarten (Ward & Francis, 2010, para. 2). China is the best choice, because of their willingness to work with other countries creating a need for translation software.
I chose China National Software to distribute our product. They are a well-known company that deals in software programs, online security and management systems. Their wide variety of software brings in more business as they can offer companies a complete package and our software would be an excellent addition. Good points
Attached is my letter introducing our company and software. The business letters in China are much like ours as they are formal and to the point (Cimusko, 2011). They do like a document number and do not include addresses (Cimusko, 2011). Faxes are used primarily as a way to communicate (Cimusko, 2011). Letters to businesses in China should include either a commonality they share with the addressee or the reference to a common acquaintance since cold calling is much less frequent in China (Purdue, n.d.). The letter should be mindful of the language and convey “deference, respectful leadership, or equality of status” (Purdue, n.d. para. 23).

Mr. Chen Xiao, Distribution Manager
China Software Company
63 Renmin Lu, Qindgao Shi

China
Dear Mr. Chen,
My name is Peter Frommton and I am the marketing director of Snyder Software. I am writing you to introduce our language translation software. We would like your company to distribute our product in China and would be very pleased to meet with you in regard to our software.
Snyder Software was founded in 1990 by Anne Snyder. We are the leaders in translation software. Snyder Software only makes translation software. Our product is the best, because it has our 100% focus. Currently we offer over 50 different languages and are working to expand this.
Our translation software is run on a statistical system. Our software finds patterns among thousands of written documents in order to translate. This is done quickly and efficiently. This form of translation allows access to much more information on the internet in order to correctly translate a document versus using a rule-based translation system. Rule-based translation systems require the hiring linguists in each language we offer. This raises the price of the software and the time needed to add languages.
Snyder Software chose your company to distribute our software due to your reputation within China. Your company covers all of China and has many options for your customers. Snyder Software found that you are well liked and the leader among software companies. Your many different software options and your ability to distribute to all of China brings in a diverse group of business creating many opportunities to distribute our software. We would be honored to partner with you as our distributor.
Thank you for considering distributing our language translation software. I look forward to hearing from you and to setting up an appointment. I can be reached by fax at +1 01 507 987 6543, email at [email protected], or phone at +1 01 507 555 2345.
Respectfully yours,
Peter Frommton, Marketing Director
