Discussion 1

The progress of the paper is smooth. I am doing extensive research to comprehend every aspect that is needed for this project. I have designed the format of the paper by outlining the various sections that will be contained in the paper. Furthermore, there are multiple resourceful books that I have gathered in my laptop to assist me to expound on the topic to come up with the most recent facts in the industry since the technology is ever-changing. I have limited myself to only peer-reviewed articles to ensure that there are concrete facts on the industry. Also, I have included the paper on Cybersecurity in Industry 4.0: The pitfalls of having hyper-connected systems by Maurice Dawson are significant in my research.

Organizations must consider the significance of the cybersecurity systems in their operations. Multiple complex risk assessments must be performed to assess the kind of systems and frameworks to be applied in the hyperconnected systems (Dawson, 2018). Therefore, my paper will cover the sectors and issues concerned with connectivity to come up with appropriate suggestions concerned with the hyperconnected systems. I am in the introduction part of the paper. I intend to work on my paper weekly until I complete it successfully.

Discussion 2

This week I have been working on the challenges . I4.0 is, in the first place, a convergence of traditional manufacturing techniques with current trends in information technologies. It goes beyond that, however, as it also sets a new paradigm in terms of business collaboration and the use of technology with two overarching goals, namely, zero-defects and turnaround efficiency from design to finished product. The opportunity to rethink Industry comes at a time when a number of key technologies has matured sufficiently – such as Cloud Computing and Mobile Technologies – technologies that are ready to be embedded in a sector that is traditionally conservative and/or has long upgrade cycles. Past the effort involved in the transformation, cybersecurity is raised as a top concern of business leaders (Bughin et al 2015), given the exploding complexity of the technologies involved, which creates risks and an attack surface that did not exist before. In a simplistic way, what before could be protected with walls and physical security, now requires a matching level of sophistication and management.
