I hope each of you had a good week one. Starting with week two, you should be in a routine and understand the expectations. If not, please ask questions! You can email me or provide your question in the Ask Your Profession discussion forum.

In weeks 2, 4, and 5, you are required to search for a news source that is related to the topic of the week. You will use this news source to make certain it applies to the discussion question of that week.

Please make certain your article is current, preferably in the last year.

Reliable news sources include the New York Times, International Business Times, Economic Times, or CNN News. You do not have to use these sources; however, you should use media that is newsworthy.

The purpose of searching for a topic in a news source is to increase your awareness of current events in a global environment. You may want to include in your search your discipline, such as management, marketing, fashion, or technology. This will further increase your knowledge of the impact of international business in your current or future career.

You must use in-text citations for each sentence that is analyzed from this source. You do not want to directly quote sentences from this source. You want to demonstrate your critical thinking and analytical skills that you can read information and present your analysis. For students who struggle with this concept, consider yourself a leader in your company or future company you want to work for. How would you describe this information to your team? Woul d you read directly from the article? Most likely not. Use this scenario to write your response.
