Week 2 Assignment

In order to complete assignment #2 you will need to do all 4 of the items items below. Please address the items in a Word document and then upload the assignment for grading. When assigning a name to your document please use the following format (lname_Assignment2). Use examples from the readings, lecture notes and outside research to support your answers. The assignment must be a minimum of 2-full pages in length with a minimum of 2 - sources. Please be sure to follow APA v6 guidelines for the entire paper. Assignments are due by 11:55 pm Eastern time on Sunday.

You MUST meet the minimum requirements of the assignment in order for any portion of the rubric to apply!

Assignment 2 Requirements.  1) Create a file on your computer. 2) Provide a screen shot of the permissions for the file. 3) Explain who has access to the file. 4) Describe what steps need to done to provide access to all users on the computer to have access to the file. [Yes, this is an essay assignment, 600+ words, with a single screen shot, supported by 2 references]

This assignment is a summative assessment for Course Objective 1.

TOPIC APPROVAL

Instructions:

All that is needed for this week is your proposed topic.  Read the announcement regarding paper prep.  For this assignment, I'm expecting ONLY your thesis statement and topic!

You must select a topic that is Information Assurance (IA) or Security related. No list is provided for you to choose from. Do not contact me and say ...I'm having trouble picking a topic, any suggestions?

Requirements:

Details of Project Paper (15%):  You must include at least 10 references.

You MUST meet the minimum requirements of the assignment in order for any portion of the rubric to apply!

Prepare a 10-15 full page paper in Microsoft Word (counts as 15% of the final grade) in APA format (see writing expectations in the Policies section) (300+ words per page).

1.      At a minimum include the following:

1.

· Detailed description of the area researched

· Technology involved in the area

· Future trends in the area

· Example companies involved in the area

· Regulatory issues surrounding the area

· Global implications for the area

· References (minimum of 10)

2. You may use resources from the APUS Online Library, any library, government library, or any peer-reviewed reference (Wikipedia and any other publicly-reviewed source is not accepted). The paper must by at least 10 pages of content (does not include Abstract, Table of Contents, Cover Page, Reference Pages, or Executive Summaries), double-spaced, 1" margin all around, black12 point fonts (Times New Roman or Arial) with correct in-text citations of all utilized references/sources, (pictures, graphics, etc... are extra - allowed but do not count toward the minimum page count). Again, the title page and references are also required but don't count in the minimum page count, or as content. A minimum of 10 references are needed.

3. The paper will be subjected to checking against plagiarism. The paper must follow acceptable originality criteria (no more than 15% max total, and 2% per individual source match are allowed).

4. Save the file using the following file naming convention: Last_Project.doc(x) (where last is your last name) and submit the file in this assignment area

Here are the originality report requirements:

1. The originality report must be less than 15% match

2. No single source shall be above 2%

3. Your assignment will automatically be submitted into TII when you submit your assignment.

Submission Instructions:

If you do not follow these three requirement instructions you will get a 0 for your project paper assignment. I will not give you the chance to rework your papers until an acceptable level of match is achieved.

If, on any assignment, your turnitin.com score matches more than 40% you will be subject to academic reporting.
