Introduction

The latest version of vSphere is VMware vShphere Replication 6.5.

To be reasonable, vSphere Standard Switch suggests more than the name implies.

vMware is used to deliver virtual desktops

IT administrators can use vMware for easy provisioning.

2

Benefits of vMware

Simplicity management and easy control.

Reduce Total Cost of Ownership i.e. TCO up to fifty percent.

Delivers a better desktop experience

Standardized with industrial standards (Oglesby, 2005).

3

Simplicity management and easy control

Can easily manage a lot of end-users from just a centralized place. It also streamlines the key processes like connecting brokering, application assignment, policy enforcement, application assignment, policy enforcement and provisioning (Greer, 2014).

4

With vMware one saves resources such as money, and time.

Centralizing a desktop infrastructure with VMware makes it simple and less costly.

It also decreases support calls and also reduces end-user downtime.

Able to deliver the very best end-user experience across devices and locations.

Reduce Total Cost of Ownership and Better desktop performance

5

Providing unparalleled performance.

Availability for virtual desktop.

Reliability.

Scalability.

Other benefits of vMware

Prior to configuring fail-over clustering one needs to consider the kind of storage to use. Since we are not building cluster to support SQL server we will use SAN

In validation configuration we select the servers that we want to cluster which is followed by running all the tests since hyper-V is enabled they will be Hyper-V specific tests for clusters in this step

6

Software and hardware: The cost of necessary software, associated services, and hardware. This also includes software maintenance, training, upgrades, software purchases, backup software and virus protection.

Business administration: vMware saves business associated processes such as labor costs.

How vMware can save resources for a company

Assuming one passed validation tests a report should be generated which contains “Warning” but no any errors.

Since for this case we will not have shared storage we will not be using disk majority and node

7

IT operations: vMware saves a company ongoing cost associated with server configuration, data center power, storage infrastructure, and other associated system administration tasks,

Computing needs: Vmware saves computing needs of the remote computers.

8

Reduces operational costs: Makes it possible to realize important reductions in IT operations costs. It reduces the number of servers in organization data centers

Increases administration efficiency: vMware makes it possible to streamline and automate common tasks like reconfiguration, migration, and provisioning.

9

Reduces downtime costs by significantly reducing downtime.

Implementing vMware helps in reducing downtime and the cost that is associated with downtime

vMware organizations can move running virtual machines from one host to another (McCain, 2014)

10

Reduces downtime costs by reducing downtime.

Implementing vMware it helps in reducing downtime and the cost that is associated with downtime.

vMware organizations can move running virtual machines from one host to another, this in turn helps in running virtual machines from one host to another (Greer, 2014)

Cont.….

11

Reducing unplanned downtime: vMware allows administrators to reduce unplanned downtime by making it possible for an organization to migrate the running applications away from the organization servers which shows an indication that they are likely to fail.

vMware :Cost benefit analysis

Description Benefits Costs
Software and hardware Reduces the cost of buying software Initial costs of buying the software and hardware
Business administration Reduces unplanned cost and time The cost of installation of vMware
IT operations Reduces the number of servers Payment to IT administrators (Lowe, 2009)

Conclusion

It is evident that vMware is designed to reduce company’s overhead cost

It enables one to access virtual desktops from Macs, Windows, iPads, thin clients and so on.

It offloads organization’s server applications and eliminates agent sprawl.

vMware enables an organization to function with limited cost
