Introduction to Criminal Justice

Crime Control vs. Due Process Due Process means that in the quest for crime control and public order, the government is bound to follow certain rules and procedures. Even if a person is guilty, if the government does not follow the rules and procedures in obtaining a conviction, the courts can refuse to prosecute the alleged offender or void a conviction obtained in violation of certain rights (Fagan, p.5).

“Law without order is anarchy, but order without law is tyranny.”
