Reflection Learning
Describe the process you would follow to assess the organization where you plan to conduct your project for opportunities for improvement including the identification of stakeholders.
The DNP project is important in improving on the organization performance through process improvement approach. In the healthcare organization, I would conduct the DNP project about the Type II Diabetes Mellitus by working collaboratively with the organization professionals in order to get a quality feedback that is worth making informed project improvement. The problem of type II diabetes has become a problem in the society and has affected the operations of the healthcare performance since more resources have been directed towards the treatment of the diabetes patients. The process that I would follow to assess the organization include coming up with a structured questionnaire to source information from the executive management, healthcare providers and the patients. In addition, I would also conduct survey in the community that is served by the healthcare facility by using the questionnaire format and get to understand the challenges that the type II diabetes mellitus has caused. The questionnaire directed to the executive targets on understanding the impact that the disease has brought to the facility and the interventions that are currently in place towards controlling the rising cases of type II diabetes. The healthcare workers also have important information that is critical for the DNP project and this include the history of most of the patients like if the condition is hereditary or more of patients lifestyle (Gruss et al., 2020). The questionnaire directed to the public gives the feedback about their lifestyle and this would dictate about the intervention and in this case changing the lifestyle is the most significant approach in reducing the cases in the healthcare facility. The stakeholders that are critical in achieving the project success include the healthcare providers, executive management, patients and the public (Ross et al., 2020).
Determine the ultimate goals for your DNP project and how they relate to the organization's mission and vision.
The goals of the project are to minimize the number of type II diabetes by funding the preventive approaches that would be cheaper than the treatment of the disease. The other objective of the project is to improve the healthcare of the people in the community and minimize type II diabetes and mortality rate and ensure that people are living quality life. The mission of the healthcare organization is to inspire hope to the patients and provide the best and quality care to patients and this relates with the DNP goals of making sure that patients gets quality care through preventive approach and also more resources are directed towards other diseases. The approach of reducing the lifestyle disease cases in healthcare ensure that the limited number of type II patients that would be there for the services would get the necessary attention and intervention needed. Prevention is important in the healthcare and serves the interest of the healthcare facility mission of improving the quality life of its population (Herman, 2015). The vision of the organization is to offer the best patient-centered care and become the best global care facility and this is achieved when the project is supported and succeed because prevention approach is the way to go for the increasing lifestyle diseases and require the healthcare facility to lead the way of changing the lifestyle in the society by providing guidance and awareness to achieve success.
