Week 1 SPSS Assignment

1. Part 1 use your textbook Doing Data Analysis and SPSS 23 to setup and enter data into the data file. This exercise is located on page 1 – 6 of your textbook. You will simply enter the data that is used on page 3 of your text to create your data file. This will provide you with a visual for what this should look like in SPSS. This completes Part 1 (you should save this separately from Part 2).

2. Part 2 you will add 5 additional variables to this data set. For example, you might include GPA (and then fill in any GPA #s for each case), you might also use class status (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior) or any other variables that relates to the set.

3.  Part 3. Write a short paragraph explaining the second graph with 8 variables. When you have completed this assignment, you should have 2 graphs.  One that looks identical to the one on page 3 of your Doing Data textbook and one where you added the 5 additional variables and a paragraph explaining your graph where you added the 5 additional variables.
