There are many differences between the practice of a master’s prepared nurse in comparison to a baccalaureate prepared nurse. One of the main differences is a baccalaureate prepared nurse focuses more on hands-on patient care, while a master’s prepared nurse covers leadership, administration, and educational roles, and still do bedside patient care. (Linton, Dabney, B. W., Knecht, L., & Koonmen, J. 2019).

A registered nurse with a Bachelor of science in nursing degree will have to know the ins and outs of patient care. They learn about subjects such as emergency care, public health, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, microbiology, and pharmacology. The Master of Science in nursing program prepares the student for clinical nurse leadership roles, nursing administration and or clinical nurse education roles. (Linton, Dabney, B. W., Knecht, L., & Koonmen, J. 2019).
