I decided to choose “When is suicide acceptable”?

Identify variables (one DV, at least one IV) which you have found in the GSS dataset.

A: Identify variable names

Suicide1: Suicide if incurable disease

Suicide3: suicide if dishonored family

b. identify the question related to this variable that was asked in the survey (in verbatim).

Suicide1: Has an incurable disease?

Suicide3: Has dishonored his or her family?

Explain why you chose these variables for your project;

I chose these variables because I think it gives a good outlier to my question to whether or not suicide is acceptable in more than on instance.

 Explain why you think there is a correlation or a relationship.

I think there is a correlation between the two because they both relate to suicide but takes two different looks at it. One is going to die regardless and the other is living.

Is divorce the best solution when a couple can’t seem to work out their marriage problems.

2. Divorce is usually the best solution when a couple can't seem to work out their marriage problems.

3. Explain why you chose these variables for your project:

I chose the variables because it is needed to complete my research.

4. Explain why you think there is a correlation or a relationship                         

There is a correlation between my variables because most couples divorce due to marriage problems however, I want to dig deeper and find out if that is the best solution in all situations.

1. Describe what your topic is, phrasing it as a research question:

Should older people share a home with their grown children?

2. Identify Variables:

a.       Aged (DV) and children (IV)

b.      As you know, many older people share a home with their grown children. Do you think this is generally a good idea or a bad idea?

3. Explain why you chose these variables for your project:

The variable I chose allow for the linkage between the two subjects; Aged represents the older people while children represent the grown children in the study.

4. Explain why you think there is a correlation or a relationship                         

I believe there is a growing correlation between the two subjects based on new trends showing many older individuals are now sharing homes with their adult offspring for a variety of reasons such as health, low-income, or just to be close to family. There is a growing concern that not all grown children want their older family members in their homes for various reasons.
