Data analysis can be described as a process of compiling data and analyzing them to help in the decision making process. On the other hand, data analytics is basically the techniques used in data analysis. Data analysis is important to businesses since they enable an organization to make better decisions with the help of data analysts. Data analysis enables businesses to foretell the expected changes in consumer behaviors, deliver reliable data, and improve the productivity of a business.

Organizations have realized the benefit of using technological techniques to establish data-driven objectives. An example of such a company is Coca Cola where the analyzed data is used to increase the number of customers they get and retain. The company is able to do this by creating platforms that provide an avenue for them to air out their opinions. The opinions from various customers on their preferences and dislikes are then analyzed by the company and later on adjusted to meet the needs of the consumer. The analyzed data is used by the company to formulate adverts that relate directly to their direct customers. The audience mostly like sports and music as most adverts of the company are created.

The company used collected information from a self-service stall that allowed consumers to mix their drinks. Coca Cola used this information to come up with a ready-made mixed flavor drink thus expending their market size. The company largely takes advantage of the social media platforms when they want to valuable data collected from their Twitter handle where they have 35 million followers and Facebook comments from their 105 million fans. These platforms where people post their photos taking the drinks or hanging out provide the company with an insight of the location and consumers of a particular drink they produce hence using it as a base for advertising (Marr, 2017). The analyzed data enables Coca Cola to adjust their products to suit the needs and preferences of their customers hence producing better quality products. This has enabled the company to earn more income from various parts of the world thus improving their profits.

Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods is another good example of a company that uses data analysis to improve their sales and productivity. The organization uses a wide variety of data from customers regarding their opinions regarding certain products and how they think they can be improved. These information is used to develop the products and services offered to the customers. The company uses the data driven strategies to understand the behavioral patterns of consumers when it comes to purchasing groceries. They are also able to analyze the interactions suppliers have with their customers hence giving the organization an upper hand when deciding on whether they need to make further changes or not. Advertising to the target audience ensures that the company maximizes their profits in every targeted location.

Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods use data obtained from the frequency of purchase of customers from previous operating periods to come up with the predicted patterns of customers when purchasing groceries. The analysis is also helpful when coming up with locations where the target market can be found hence advertisement strategies can be set to suit the needs of the target market. The analyzed information can be used to make decisions on the appropriate prices to charge, how to promote products, and allocation decisions. The comments given by customers on the websites on points of how the products can be improved, what they enjoyed about the products, and if they were satisfied enables the company to come up with strategies that ensure the best production methods are utilized hence increasing quality of the products hence increasing the number of consumers which results to an increase in revenue earned and the overall productivity.

In conclusion, data collected from online platforms and comments are very useful in ensuring the consumers’ experience when using the products of a company are satisfactory hence increasing the number of customers and consumer loyalty to a company. This is because analyzing data enables organizations to deliver relevant products predicting the consumers’ preference in the market (liebowitz, 2017). Data analytics also enables firms to deliver personalized services reducing risks and fraud from threats that may befall the organization from poor planning hence developing the efficiency in which the organization operates.
