What is the organizational history? |
The company picked for this paper is a giant in supply chain management, Amazon.com, Inc. is an US multinational technology company which focuses on retail, e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence but I picked up amazon retain business. Company was founded by Jeff Bezos on July 5, 1994. The organization currently positioned at number one in online retail business. Throughout this conversation, one part of Amazon’s Supply Chain will be discussed. |

Identify the problem. How long has this problem existed? |
The primary issue here is not able to meet the customer delivery date and this is occurred because of asynchronous communication between the systems, process engineering gaps and delivery systems inaccuracies. The problem has been existed for more than couple years. Supply chain management being a vast industry providing a comprehensive solution based upon anecdotal data will not be accurate. The solution that is being offered is phase wise approach and it is determined based upon the organization priorities. Currently organizations are working on to resolve process engineering gaps. |

This is a persistent and ongoing problem of Amazon’s supply chain management. Various measures have been taken to overcome this problem. However, this problem may occur in different forms because of the volume growth of amazon. (Nguyen, 2017). |

Ensuring miscommunication between the systems, misplacement of items, updating the process paths for any deviation from the predefined plans these are impacting the system. Updating the systems to communicate whenever the actions happen, enabling the alerts system in process engineering. (Gavin, 2018). |

Yes, to solve this problem, the organization needs to analyze the business problem by using different techniques like improved business process, value system, policies, capabilities and use of different analytical tools. |

The relevant data is collected by interviewing the relevant stakeholders based on their data points and performance of the business goals. |

What are specific benefits to the organization if the business problem is solved using analytics? |
A business problem can be solved in multiple ways and means. Focusing on current issue and trying to solve based upon historical data will only lead to short term gain. At times, the problem may come back or recur over a period of time. Instead of that the companies will take the advantage of analytics to solve the problem with a comprehensive approach in order to ensure the problem is solved once for and all. (Gavin, 2018). Analytics not only let the organization to determine the solution based upon historical data but will also let predict a solution that the organization can act upon in future use cases. Another advantage of analytics is it lets the organization to provide more contextual mechanisms to close the gaps that creates the uncertainties. (Devaraj, 2007). |

Supply chains in delivery division is a complicated framework since it has various factors and are firmly related, for example, Last-mile delivery of orders were misplaced majorly, during holiday season for Amazon. In fact, in the months of November and December of every year, Amazon had a logistics breakdown that resulted in many customers failing to receive their orders due to overload of orders. This prompted Amazon to prepare for revisiting and redefining the process of last mile of deliveries. (Sumit, 2020). |
