- that branch of chemistry that studies the properties and reactions of elements, excluding organic or certain carbon-containing compounds

- study of the elements and their reactions

Organic

- chemistry of carbon and carbon containing compounds

- chemistry of those things derived from living or once-living things

Biochemistry

- Biological chemistry

- Physiological chemistry

- involves all the living processes in health & disease

- organic and inorganic are “applied” here

- the branch of chemistry dealing with compounds produced by living organisms

Embalming Chemistry

- chemistry of the chemical processes involving dead organic substances in terms of decomposition, disinfection and preservation
