One of the biggest issues that firms face when they go global is the difference in communication styles and language differences. While language barriers is an issue, there are several other barriers that should be considered. For example, America based businesses are use to a fast pace negotiation process, while it is customary in other countries to drag negotiations out in order to form relationships before the deal is actually made. Another example could be the differences in culture, like for instance, how hand shaking is customary in American, it is seen as rude in other parts of the world.
Another issue that businesses can face have to do with aesthetics. Global marketers have to understand the importance of the aesthetics of their product or business. This is because in different parts of the world, they can perceive those aesthetics differently compared to others. These elements can be deemed appropriate and attractive to one country but can be have the opposite impact in another (Keegan & Green, 2016, p. 240). How the aesthetics are taken can have a huge impact on the business.
