SWOT and SMART
My highest level of education is my high school diploma. However, I have taken a few courses online that pertained to nursing and phlebotomy specifically. Also, I have received my CNA license. A memorable experience that impacted my self-esteem as a student, was when I was in high school. One day in my English class, my professor assigned everyone a topic, and he told us that we would have to give a speech in front of the class. At the time, I was not very comfortable giving speeches, because I was very shy, and I felt like it was one of my weaknesses. However, I prepared myself and studied, and when it was time to give my speech, I excelled at it.
In high school I was a A-B student. I really enjoyed the coursework and my peers. My favorite classes to take was anything associated with some type of math, like algebra or statistics. In college, I hope to take courses that are related to math as well. I also hope to take quite a few of business courses as well.
I chose to attend Grantham University, because I wanted to further my education and advance in my career. I first heard about the institution through a friend. My friend provided me with her true experience of Grantham and said that she was very pleased with the peers and instructors. At that moment, I knew that I wanted to be a part of that type of environment. My program of study is Associate of Business Administration. I am absolutely positive that I want to graduate, and I am fully prepared to do whatever it takes to make that dream come true.
To pursue my degree, I believe I could utilize my top three strengths: perseverance, dedication, and being ambitious. With perseverance, I know that I will not allow anything to get in my way of me obtaining my degree. With dedication, achieving my main goal of graduating would be my center focus. I am willing to make the necessary commitments just to achieve that goal. Lastly, with being ambitious, I know that I will be determined, and I’ll have a strong desire to succeed.
Just like there are pros, there are cons as well. My weaknesses include being fearful, being too passive, and being shy. When I put my all into something, and I don’t make the grade that I aimed for, sometimes it can be a little upsetting for me and it makes me fear major assignments. Also, I noticed that I can be too passive at times. Sometimes it can be a good thing, but at other times, it can be a bad thing. I have noticed that I need to speak up about specific things. For an example, if I were to receive a lower grade on an assignment, and the feedback says that I only responded once, and I know for sure that I responded twice, I would need to reach out to the instructor to fix the issue. Normally, I would just not mention it and allow my grade to be what it is. Lastly, my weakness of being shy can make me miss out on great opportunities.
