Selecting a single ticketing system software that would be used by the entire business

I did I research of at least three proposed ticketing system software and chose the one which was more suitable for our business. Things didn’t go smoothly since they were more or less the same in terms of the functionality that we required as a business. But I finally ended up choosing ServiceNow as my ticketing solution.

Choosing a network working environment operating system for the ticketing solution software

I chose Windows server 2019 as my network working environment. It was a difficult encounter choosing a working environment since it was supposed to have a high availability and also it was to work in a Windows working environment.

Selecting a cloud-based service that our system would use to operate and store it data in the cloud for easy accessibility

This was not an easy task to undertake since we had to consider using a cloud based service that was affordable and highly efficient for our working process. I ended up choosing Azure cloud-based service as our cloud-based solution.

Installation of the ticketing system solution on a virtual machine to demonstrate how they work.

What I did here was we took all the three proposed ticketing solution and installed them one by one, so that we would identify their pros and cons. The process was very tiresome since I repeated the same thing for each ticketing system, also identifying each of their pros and cons took critical analysis because all of them were very much appropriate for our business use. I finally selected the one that was cost-effective, was able to be easily understood by the users, and could be accessed 24/7

Integration of the Windows server 2019 with Azure cloud based solution

I configured Windows server 2019 and Azure cloud-based solution, it was not an easy process since a lot of technicality had to be put in place in order for it to fully function effectively. The two solution ended up being integrated and all the information a customer required about the business would have been found online.

Installation of Recoverit

This was a data recovery software, and it was installed in our system so that data that was formatted or even that was inaccessible could be able to be recovered. There was no much problem experience during its installation since it was compatible with the available hardware as well as software.

Setting up of the Cisco Integrated Service Virtual Router (ISR)

Since most of the communication was going to be done virtually, it was not a difficult task to configure it with the available network environment so that it would work effectively and efficiently.

Setting up of WD My Book Duo 4 TB

This was going to be used as storage space where all files and other relevant process done within the system would be stored. Setting it up proved to be challenging and I had to seek technical assistance from elsewhere to ensure it was properly set up.

It acted as an access control mechanism where to access certain part of our system infrastructure you had to have authorization. This device was installed by the experts of the company which manufactured it, therefore I didn’t have a difficult time dealing with it.

This was a DBMS that would be used in storing all the data for easy access and retrieval. It was integrated into the system so that it would work efficiently and effectively. Integrating it into the system was not a problem and it didn’t pose any major challenge during that process.

Choosing a suitable network topology

In choosing a network topology I did a thorough a research to know the right kind of topology that would be compatible with our network infrastructure. I was able to select the star network topology

Reasons for choosing the network topology

I choose star topology because It would be able to help reduce the amount of impact failure in the transmission line by connecting each of the host to the central hub independently. It was difficult choosing the most appropriate technology and had to research with an open mind.

It was able to meet the project needs since the other companies would just be connected to it by sharing the same network. The topology would assist in completing the project task

I was able to identify each of the technology needed, and their prices then add them together to determine their prices and total cost was $ 1,970.99. The process went smooth and there was no difficulty found

I was able to use the available network drawing tools in drawing a well detailed network diagram. The process was not easy and I encountered a lot of challenges during the process but in end I was able to draw one.
