week 10 imp resp
1. A team that I am currently in and have been in for the past few years at my workplace is called the cross-functional team. This team is one that I enjoy because I’m always learning new tasks. It is based on a small group of people at my workplace that management selects. In this team, we are well trained in different areas of the organization because management trusts that we can be responsible and help out when need. Usually, we are needed when sale season approaches. Prior to the sale, we gather together to build a plan and routine so that everyone is covered. The reason to this is so that we can fill in for necessary tasks and job duties when needed or if there is a short staff. The cross- functional team is important and reliable which in my option motivates me to continue in this group. The team that I experience and did not enjoy was the sales team. In one of my pervious jobs, I worked at a car dealership as a receptionist/ secretary. Towards the end of every month I was asked if I can help the sales team in selling cars during the weekend. When the time arrived, I realized that selling it not a strong skill that I have nor that I enjoyed. Although I was familiar with all the information that was asked, I did not like that I had to pressure customers into something that is not what they prefer or make them a deal that is “pictured prefect”. In the end, I expressed my concerns with my then manager and no longer helped in “selling” the car. Instead I helped the sales team in making the documentation process run smoother for them by running car fax, sending faxes, communicating with insurance companies and much more.
2. A strong team are the foundation of high-performing business and a good team ethic can be held largely accountable for the success and smooth running of the organisation. If employees do not gel and work well together, problems can arise, such as poor organisation, missed deadlines and conflict within the workplace. The best team that I was part of was during my internship. I never experience such positive work environment where others did not try to bring you down but was willing and delightful to help and support interns. The place was just full with life from patients to care providers and administration. It was just a place I see myself working in the near future. They communicate openly with each other, sharing their thoughts, opinions and ideas with members of the team as well as taking into consideration what others have to say. Communication is essential for keeping track of progress and working together efficiently on tasks. Each individual of the staffng team contributes their fair share of the workload and fully understand what their responsibilities are and where they fit in with the running of the business. As an intern I felt a sense of belonging to the team even if I was there temporary.Everyone showed their commitment to their work and really care about the success of the clinic. The staff were always happy to assist others when they need a helping hand with work. Teams are often more productive when they are also offered support from the organisation and access to the required resources and this is what I experience during my internship. It was just an unbelievable experience because honestly I went there expecting a hard time but it was just the total opposite. A strong team usually have a leader that they trust and respect which is who the clininc manager was. This I believe lead to a bit of enjoyment into working there. Teams who work particularly well together enjoy each others company and get together outside of the office from time to time to socialise and have some fun. Building a positive relationship with your colleagues can make for a much more relaxed environment and reduce conflict. I would love to be part of this team at some point in my life. It was the best experience I had from since when I got introduced to the working environment.
