In order to get to know yourself better as a leader in the field of early childhood education, you must have a clear view of your goals, role, and focus as a leader in the broad field of early childhood.
· For this journal, describe your short term and long-term goals, your ideal leadership position, your preferred setting, the preferred age level, and where you see yourself in the future. Elaborate on each of these as you specifically describe where you wish to be after the completion of your BA ECEA degree.
My Answers for you:
Short term goal: I want to continue as an early childhood teacher working with children ages 2-3, I am currently on an education plan to complete my associates degree to keep my current position.
Long term goal: I would like to become an assistant teacher in the Head Start working with children ages 3-5.
Have not really thought about moving into the leadership role, as I enjoy being a teacher.
The preferred setting and age level would be in a classroom with children ages 2-5
Where do I see myself in the future: I would like to be settled in my teaching position as an assistant teacher in the Head Start and completed schooling for my associates in early childhood.
