GLOSSARY TERMS
Data is a term used to describe units of information that are collected through observation and are usually numeric. Data, in technical terms, is a collection of values for qualitative or quantitative variables about one or more people or objects.
Quantitative Data is numerical information that can be measured or counted is referred to as quantitative data. Some examples of quantative data are: height, weight, number of objects, volume, price, speed
Categorical data is a collection of data that has been divided into categories. When a company or agency attempts to obtain biodata on its employees, the resulting data is referred to as categorical. This information is referred to as categorical because it can be categorized based on the variables found in the biodata, such as gender and state of residence. Nominal and Ordinal categorical data are the two types of categorical data.
Cross-Sectional Data is data collected by observing a large number of subjects (such as individuals, firms, countries, or regions) at the same time. It's also possible that the analysis ignores differences in time. The most common method of analyzing cross-sectional data is to compare differences among selected subjects.
Time Series Data is a collection of observations obtained through repeated measurements over time is known as time series data. Time series data includes weather records, economic indicators, and patient health evolution metrics e.t.c
