Part I

What you’ll need to get started:

A topic – Pick a topic that interests you and hit up PsychInfo & Google Scholar

Examples include…

Are there differences in depression between men and women?

Does poor sleep inhibit memory creation?

Is music therapy better than conventional therapy for patients with PTSD?

Part I

Something to note: all of those example topics involved comparisons

For your final paper (which includes an analysis), you’ll be answering your hypothesis based on simulated data

This means Dr. Bonnin will provide you with a set of data he generates, and you will match it to your study

Part I

The data provided to you will be for comparison between two groups

You will be responsible for building a design in your paper that would “test” this hypothetical data as if you were acquiring it normally

This design must be made with a comparison between two groups in mind

You won’t necessarily need to implement that for the Literature Review paper, but it should influence the kind of hypothesis you make in your Literature Reivew

Part I: Review

Literature Review Paper

Title Page, 6-8 papers, hypothesis, references

Be sure to write your hypothesis such that it can work with a two group comparison

The Experimental Papers I & II will come later, and expand on your literature review as well as analyze data.
