Chapter 1
Instructions
Use the Document Revision Timeline located in Course Resources to assist you in determining what work remains to be completed for Chapter 1. On your timeline, you may also want to include components of Chapter 3 that you can work on during this course while Chapter 1 is being reviewed by your Chair and Committee. In this course, you will be required to submit your Chapter 1 for Committee review in Weeks 2 and 5 unless you have been asked to submit them earlier. This week, focus on the following:
1. Create your Revision Timeline
2. Send Revision Timeline to Chair and Committee
3. Set up meeting with Chair (and SME, if possible) for Week 1 or Week 2 (as soon as possible)
4. Meet with Chair (and SME, if possible)
a. Discuss components of Chapter 1 that need revision
b. Agree to a Timeline
c. Set up a follow up meeting, if needed
To pass this course, you must meet or exceed all criteria on the Chapter 1 rubric according to your Committee members. You can find a copy of the appropriate rubric(s) as well as in the Doctoral Student Experience Handbook in the Dissertation Center.
Dropbox Assignment(s): In the Week 1 Dropbox, submit your current draft Chapter 1 in the Dissertation Template. Submit your Dissertation Revision Timeline that will include the resources that you will use to help you on each section of Chapter 1 that is not met. Refer to your timeline and checkoff your accomplishments.
