Tianjin Beichen Beimen Hospital is a hospital focus on traditional Chinese medicine and part of western medicine.

The goal of the project is help Beichen Beimen Hospital to build a whole website to show hospital news, doctors information, tips for common diseases, appointment system, and a doctor-patient communication system.

Currently they don’t have their own website to show all the information online, people can only find the address, and phone number of the hospital. It makes all the patients must go to hospital to make sure if the doctor available and then pick a number to wait the doctor. And they can not make appointment for future days, which is not convenience and waste time, they might need to wait a long time in the hospital after pick the number. According to talk with client, there are almost 1.3 thousand patients come to the hospital per day, but almost 40% patients need to wait more than 3 hours to meet with the doctors, and almost 5% patients cannot meet with doctor before the doctor off work even they already pick a number.

For those patients need to wait a long time or even can not meet with the doctors, they might not have every serious symptom, only need to make sure what kind of disease they have, what they need to notice, and what kind of medical, which is not prescription, they need to take. For these topics it might only need a few minutes to meet with the doctor, but the situation makes them must wait a long time, which is absolutely waste time.

As we mentioned in gold of project that the Beichen Beimen Hospital has a lot of patients a day, it already exceeds the capacity. Since they can not expand their hospital in a short time, and need to solve the patients’ problem efficiently, to build their own website and the patient-doctor system. Here are several advantages for the hospital after finishing the project.

First, the website can show all usefull information of the hospital, patients can clear to know which doctor they want and save more time for both hospital and patients. Patients don’t need to come to hospital to make appointment or pick a number, on other hand, everyday in the hospital will not overcrowding.

Second, since here will have the doctor-patients system, this is a new technology for hospital all over in China. Patients might attract by this function, which can convince for themselves. Patients increase, which means profit increase. The system will need professional doctors to answer patients’ questions online. Although arranging the system, the hospital will need to employee more doctors to do this work, the hospital can have a good reputation in the industrial.

Last but not least, since the doctor-patient system will have webcam, the doctor can through the webcam help the patients to deal with some emergence problem and provide more time for ambulance to rescue.

The project intends to build a system that the doctors, from Beichen Beimen Hospital, can chat and answer some questions online, it will not only can save time for doctor but also the patients. During chat doctors can make decision if the patients need to come to hospital to have a further examination. If yes, then the patients basic the doctor’s information and office hour to make online appointments and come to hospital at the exact time, no need to wait a long time, instead of coming to hospital in the early morning to pick a number and wait a long time to meet with doctors.

This is an unpaid project to help the company build a website, which can convince both doctors and patients.

Objectives:

i. Building the whole website for Beichen Beimen Hospital to save time for both doctors and patients and make each appointment more efficiently.

ii. After launching the website, Beichen Beimen Hospital will not be overcrowding than before, and each patient will have enough time to talk with doctors.

iii. Traffic to the website will increase 10% in 2 months, and at least 20% of them will not need meet with doctor in the hospital.

iv. The conversion rate of the website visitor will reach to 50% within 3 months

Metrics:

i. Conversion rate = number of visitors who use the doctor-patients system and appointment system/ Total number of visitors

ii. Numbers of website visitors, hospital visitors, doctor-patients system users and appointment system user will count after the website launching.

iii. Each patient problem solving case also will be store and count after website launching.

As the person conducting the project, I decide to make research to find if there have similar type website for hospital, having basic knowledge for the project and make demo for client, and ask for their advice for the whole project. It is important to know the client’s real needs and help them to solve the problems and then produce a satisfied product for client.

As the project manager for this project, I will follow our schedule and communicate with client if there need on time.

Since the project is design and built a website for a hospital, there might need some Java Script language knowledge to finish the whole project, at the same time, leaning some basic medical knowledge also necessary, which can help me in the hospital and medical information built up.

Although my client didn’t have an actual deadline for this project, but still need to make everything done and good as soon as possible. I need to have a good plan for the project and try to control the time and money spend. Also, the final project may be different with the original idea, but it acceptable. So, for my project, the most important thing is follow the time schedule and make an ideal final product for client.
