Independent Project 4-4 For this project, you format a vaccination schedule for Courtyard Medical Plaza by converting text to a table, formatting the table, and inserting a picture.

1. Open the VaccinationSchedule-04 start file. If the document opens in Protected View, click the

Enable Editing button so you can modify it.

2. The file will be renamed automatically to include your name. Change the project file name if

directed to do so by your instructor, and save it.

3. Select the tabbed text in the middle of the document and convert it to a table (accept default

settings). Don’t include the blank line below the tabbed text.

4. Select the entire table and apply the following changes:

a. Select Banded Rows in the Table Style Options group [Table Tools Design tab] and deselect all

other check boxes.

b. Apply the List Table 1 Light – Accent 2 table style

(Figure 4-111).

c. Change the font size on all of the text in the table

to 10 pt.

d. Choose AutoFit Window using the Table Layout

options.

e. Change row height to 0.25".

f. Center all text vertically within each cell. (Hint: Use

the Cell tab in the Table Properties dialog box.)

g. Sort the table in Ascending order by Name of Vaccine. Be sure to select Header row in the My

list has area of the Sort dialog box.

5. Make the following changes to the table:

a. Insert a row above the first row.

b. Merge the three cells in the new first row and type the following: RECOMMENDED

VACCINATION SCHEDULE (Note: Type in uppercase letters, do not use All Caps formatting)

c. Bold and center the first row and change the font size to 11 pt.

d. Bold and italicize the second row.

e. Select the first row, apply a top and bottom border with a solid line, Black, Text 1 color (2nd

color in the top row of Theme Colors) and 1½ pt. width.

f. Select the second row, apply a bottom border with a solid line, Black, Text 1 color (2nd color

in the top row of Theme Colors) and 1½ pt. width. NOTE: Be careful to not remove the top

border applied in the previous step.

g. Select the last row, apply a bottom border with a solid line, Black, Text 1 color (2nd color in

the top row of Theme Colors) and 1½ pt. width.

h. Align Center [Table Tools Layout tab, Alignment group] the column headings and the text in

the third column.

6. Insert the following information alphabetically into the table. Insert rows where needed.

7. Modify the title of the document (“Vaccination Schedule”).

a. Apply Title style to the title of the document.

b. Change the After paragraph spacing to 8 pt.

c. Center the title horizontally.

d. Apply small caps and bold formatting to the title.

8. Insert and modify a picture.

a. Place the insertion point after the title and insert the CMPLogo-04 picture downloaded from

the Resources link.

b. Change text wrapping to Top and Bottom.

c. Change the height of the logo to 1". Verify the logo remains proportional.

d. Apply the Offset Diagonal Bottom Right shadow picture effect.

e. Set the horizontal and vertical absolute position at 0.2" to the right of and below page.

9. Insert a picture and add a caption.

a. Place the insertion point after the first body paragraph and insert the Vaccination-04 picture

downloaded from the Resources link.

b. Change the text wrapping to Square.

c. Change the height of the picture to 1.3". Verify the graphic remains proportional.

d. Drag the picture so it is to the right of the first and second paragraphs.

e. Insert a caption and type Don’t neglect your vaccinations! as the caption text.

f. Center the caption text, change the font color to Red, Accent 2, and turn off italics if it is

applied to the text.

g. Select the caption and the picture and Align Center.

h. Group the caption and the picture.

i. Set the horizontal absolute position at 6" to the right of margin.

j. Set the vertical absolute position at 0.8" below margin.

10. Save and close the document (Figure 4-112)

11. Upload and save your project file.

12. Submit project for grading.
