Paul Nielsen

Early Life

Paul Nielsen was born in 1985 in Seattle, Washington. His father, an environmental scientist, taught Paul to respect nature and frequently took him on research trips to Africa and Southeast Asia.

Experience Leader Career

After graduating with honors from the University of Washington, Paul spent several years traveling through Europe and Asia before settling in Manilla in the Philippines where he joined R2G. Paul quickly put his unique gifts to work developing experiences in Southeast Asia. Within three years, Paul’s marine experiences in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia have attracted hundreds of repeat customers.

Top Experiences

Whale Shark Conservation: Whale sharks are the biggest fish in the world with over 458 whale sharks identified in the waters off the Philippines. Volunteers assist with cataloging these gentle giants and conserving their habitat.

Sea Turtle Rescue: Based in a stunning marine region, volunteers help rehabilitate injured and rescued sea turtles and participate in educational programs related to the survival of the species.
