Advocacy is an important responsibility of physical education, exercise science, and sport professionals. Advocates need a strong voice to clearly articulate the benefits of participation in quality physical education, exercise science, and sport programs. Professionals also need to work as agents for social change in reducing the health disparities and inequities experienced by individuals based on their gender, race, ethnicity, (dis)ability, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status within the physical education, exercise science, and sporting communities.
