Wal-Mart gender discrimination case

The article that I am working on is an article done by Michael Sainato. The article is about cases that were filed against Wal-Mart. Former female employees, as well as current female employees of Wal-Mart, are suing the giant retailer for gender discrimination. The ladies claimed that Wal-Mart was not paying female employees equal salaries as their male counterparts who have the same experience as them and who perform the same job as they do. In addition, the ladies believe that Wal-Mart discriminates against the female gender as it is close to impossible for women to climb up the ranks of management while on the other hand; it is easy for the male to do so (Sainato, 2019). By the time, the article was being published more and more women working at Wal-Mart were being requested to avail evidence of gender-based discrimination in the company. According to the article if Wal-Mart was found guilty of the mentioned crimes it would have to compensate all the women affected by the suit.

As mentioned in the first paragraph, the article was published in the Guardian. In order to come to this particular article, I had to use several search criteria. The first criterion was that the article must be on an ethical issue affecting the company up for discussion. The second criterion was that the issues in the article must be about legal issues that affect the company up for discussion. The discrimination issues raised against Wal-Mart are not only illegal but are unethical. If the claims raised by the female employees are confirmed to be true then Wal-Mart will be termed to operate in an unethical manner. It is not only against the law for a company to practice any form of discrimination, but it is also against the law to practice any form of discrimination in the country. In addition, it is also unethical for there to be any form of discrimination in any company.
