Kaltura Automatic Captioning

Closed captions are automatically created for all newly uploaded or created videos in your classroom. You also can edit the captions.

Your captions should appear within an hour for a typical video. Longer videos may take up to five times

the length of the video. If your video is an hour long, the maximum amount of time it will take the

captions to appear is five hours (this is not typical).

Editing Captions Kaltura captions are automatically created and have about an 80% accuracy rate. After reviewing your

captions, you may have the need to edit your captions.

1. From your Blackboard Home page, click on the MyMedia link.

2. Locate the desired video and click on it.

3. Select Edit from the Actions drop-down menu.

Click on the Captions tab and then the Edit Captions button.

The caption editor will be displayed. Click the Play button on your video and then you can compare the audio

to the captions. Click directly into the caption editor to make changes. When all edits have been made, click

the Save button above the video player to save all changes.
