Studies show that in order to bridge the gap between Cybersecurity experts and stakeholders is leaving the jargon out. Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) need to realize the audience they are dealing with and if the majority of stakeholders are non-IT people, CISOs need to realize and talk in terms everyone can understand. This type of approach is critical and can make such a big impact. 44 percent of organizations do not have a security strategy, 48 percent lacked of awareness and training to employees, and 54 percent of companies do not have incident response processes. With that being said, this is why CISOs should have the right social communication skills to convey technical information of the latest vulnerabilities to stakeholders and regular employees. Other approaches to close the gap could be through complex problem solving, critical thinking, coordinating, cooperating, and communicating with others.
