Outsourcing Training

Depending on the availability of internal training recourses, some organizations must look externally for training methods. Once the training assessment has been made it is easier to decide if an external resource should be used. Finding the right training provider can be a hurdle when outsourcing training.

Evaluating Outsourcing Options

When it comes time to choose an external resource for training many factors need to be evaluated. The following are some to consider (read more about each review pgs 130-133)

Request for Proposal

Once a short list has been comprised of qualified outsource options, a request for proposal is created where the vendors have an opportunity to give the details of the training project back. Requests for proposals usually include the following:

Off-Site Training

Sometimes in fulfilling training needs that includes sending audiences to off-site training programs. These programs can be conducted by a variety of vendors such as training vendors, product vendors, professional or government organizations, accreditation organizations, professional conferences, or law firms.
