Human Computer Interface (HCI) is the study of computer science which deals with how humans are communicating with computers (“Human-Computer Interface design”, n.d.). The principle of Human-Computer Interface design makes the use of computer much easier for users. Compare the first day of desktop and the computes what we have now. We can see the physical and the application difference. HCI is the design of menus, forms, data display and entry screens which are suitable for users (“Human-Computer Interface design”, n.d.).

Shneiderman’s Principles of Human-Computer Interface Design

The principle generally states the recognition of diversity. Which means is the designer should include the interests and capabilities of novices and experts who use the computer system frequently. The Novices and experts computer usage approach are different because of the knowledge gap. Therefore, the interface designer should incorporate both interests in the design. For example, create shortcuts, commands and special keys for experts, and full descriptive menu for beginners (“Human-Computer Interface design”, n.d.).
