MKT 530
MKT530 – Vision 2030 Assignment
The assignment on Vision 2030 will be in the form of presentation and worth 10% of the grade. There are three parts of the assignment – related to the Vision 2030, available opportunities, and segmentation and target markets. The presentation should cover all the points needed in the project and will be presented on Wednesday, 15 November 2017.
Firstly, you need to explain about the vision and your assigned pillar and objective (See Table 1 below).
Please follow through and read the goal for that objective and the level 2 and level 3 objectives to understand more about the main objective.

Secondly, you should to examine the opportunities available within the objective (link with chapter 2 and the external environment analysis (p. 71)). You need to answer and elaborate on “What are the available opportunities for businesses to go into in relations to your Objective?” You can list and expand on several opportunities that are feasible.
You need to then specify an opportunity or two opportunities for a particular industry. You can choose from one of these industries/business sectors – transportation, automobile, retailers, food & beverages, personal/household products & services, food & drug retailers, hotel & entertainment services, banking & investment services, technology, telecommunications (For specific details, look at Thomson Reuters Business Classification).
The next stage is to choose a company that would want to take advantage of this opportunity. In choosing the company, you can select the point of view of an existing company or a newly created company to enter this market. You need to elaborate on the question on “How can you use the opportunities available in the Objective?” This is where you zoom into an opportunity that you will want to pursue. You should have an idea of what it is you want to introduce – a product/service.
Lastly, once you have the idea of the opportunity to follow through, you need to think about how you can segment your market (link with chapter 9) and explain how you would be segmenting your customers. You will also need to explain which segment(s) you plan to target at the beginning and which ones (if applicable) will be targeted later on. Additionally, explain why you are targeting this group(s).
