The concept of malware is developed from malicious software, which can best be described as being any software piece whose design is developed with the intention of damaging, causing disruption or gaining unauthorized accessibility to another individual's device and inflicting harm to people or data in multiple ways. Malware has been established as being among the most significant threats with regard to the internet. In the recent past, cybercriminals have enormously employed file-less malware establishing an effective alternative attacking form; thus, making it complicated for traditional anti-virus detection due to the absence of files to scan and low footprint. There are several types of viruses in existence (Bettany & Halsey, 2017).
Computer viruses can be detected through various methods that include scanning, heuristic detection, interception, and integrity checking. However, interception and scanning are established as the most commonly used methods with regards to less extensively used packages of anti-virus. Potential avoidance of computer viruses can be done by availing an anti-virus program and keeping it updated on your computer. This is enhanced due to the fact that the anti-virus identifies and increases the removal of viruses from computer memory, incoming files, or storage media (Kreibich & Jahnke, 2010).
