Virtual Field Trip Power point
CIE 304 – Virtual Field Trip (VFT) Assignment Directions
Goal: The goal of this assignment is to create a virtual field trip. Virtual field trips allow teachers and students to visit locations all over the world without ever leaving their home or classroom. By participating in these virtual field trips, students are able to deepen their understanding of topics, as well as provide experiences that some students may have never gotten to experience.
Directions: You are to create a virtual field trip on the topic of your choice. You will need to identify a grade level and standard that addresses this topic, as well as a children’s book (either fiction or nonfiction) that provides information on this topic. Once you have gathered this information, you will gather resources from the internet that would provide a virtual field trip experience for students. You will present this information in a PowerPoint presentation using the following format:
· Slide 1 – Cover Slide – must include the name of the topic, your name, and an image related to the topic.
· Slide 2 – Information Slide – must include name of topic, grade level, and an appropriate standard that supports this topic
· Slide 3 – Goals – What is your goal for students that attend this virtual field trip? Be sure to include what you plan to accomplish through this VFT.
· Slide 4 – Websites – Include a list of websites that you used to collect information or that will be part of your VFT.
· Slides 5 – Student Welcome – Use this slide as the first slide students would see that are participating in this VFT. Use graphics and text to welcome students and explain the VFT.
· Slides 6-9 – VFT Slides – Use these slides to include images and/or links to support your VFT. These slides should be considered the actual VFT that students will experience. You may choose to use the same website or may use multiple links.
· Slide 10 – Questions Slide – The last slide of your VFT should include 5 questions that could be asked of students as a “follow up” to the VFT they experienced. These questions should be specific to this VFT and students should be able to answer them based off of the VFT experience.
