Great job identifying both the title of the article you chose and the author!
Going forward, look for ways to integrate this information into the first paragraph of your essays rather than leaving it as a line all on its own.

You are off to a nice start here in identifying some key points to help illustrate your ideas, and I would love to see the rationale developed a bit more to help make it a little clearer where you see these points from the essay supporting your ideas about the goal of the article.

Hi Brittney,
Thank you for submitting these Writing Notes! I enjoyed reading your initial, gut reactions to Amy Tan's "Mother Tongue" and am eager to see you continue developing this project over the next few weeks. Please let me know if you have any questions about my feedback or if there is anything I can do to help.
As you work toward that final draft over the course of this term, I want to share an example of an analytical essay to help you think about how your own Critical Analysis Essay might look. Check out this sample essay analyzing an article from Scientific American Mind in 2005: http://www.sfu.ca/~etiffany/teaching/phil120/sample_paper_1061.html
We're certainly not at this point in the course yet, but I think looking at a student example ahead of time can be a good way to help with your Writing Plan in Module 3.
Keep up the hard work!
Cheers,
Melinda
