Daoism is a Chinese religion associated with Daode jing a political and philosophical text. It’s written by Laozi (Lao Tzu) in the 3rd or 4th BC which emphasizes on the path or way to lead others. Also emphasizes Tao as something that existed before heaven and earth from which all things emerged. |

People are required to behave in a certain way and follow a path that’s appropriate to behave or lead others. People are supposed to identify with appropriate paths or ways which themselves may consider as appropriate. Taoism favors philosophical pluralism, anarchism, and laissez-faire-government. Laozi has also been cited as an early example of an advocate of liberalism though politics has never been a big issue in Taoism. |

It does identify with rituals, need for a divine life, gods and goddesses. It’s faced with the problem of life after death as identifies with Tao as something from which all things merged before heaven and earth. |

After people have followed an appropriate path or way human behavior and life will be better. People are to be lead in an appropriate way or path thus their lives will free from conflict. Elements of human behavior such as doctrine of emptiness and prohibition of alcohol. Emphasizes on the concept of naturalness, distrust of scripture and text, and emphasis on embracing this life. |

Members engage in rituals and divine ceremonies are celebrated. Also members are to live by the teachings of Daoism where are to behave in an appropriate path or way. They are priests in temples which have various symbols and signs in the way the temples are constructed. Street parades take place on particular holidays.

An element of Daoism are rituals, exercises and substances aiming at aligning oneself spiritually with cosmic forces, at undertaking ecstatic spiritual journeys or uplifting ones physical health to a point of reaching immortality. Several martial arts traditions, especially the ones falling under the category of Neijia embody Taoist principles to a significant extent, and some practitioners consider their art a means of practicing Taoism. At specific dates, food may be set out as a sacrifice to the spirits of the gods or the deceased, such as during the Qingming Festival. |
