Hey there! In this Loom, I'll be discussing the requirements for Project Two Milestone One. We'll be focusing on trends and how to identify them, as well as the structure of your paper. Remember to include historical information to support your trends and to use a mix of reliable sources for your references. By the end of week two, you'll need to submit a complete cover sheet, an introduction section, headings for the rest of your paper, and a draft references page with at least three correctly formatted references. Don't forget to incorporate feedback from Project One into your cover sheet. Let's get started!

Alright, so you stick with this. Your discussion section. You see. A mix of formatting in here. So centered bold title case.

24:28

It's a level one heading. Left aligned bold title case. It's a level two. These two see how these are italicized.

24:40

Also bold. Title case left aligned. These are level three. By looking at the formatting, you know that the content of these sections are part of this topic, this level two topic.

24:54

Right? If there was a level four that would have different formatting. They would actually be indented. If you use the online writing lab from Purdue that I included in my last video, they've got a good section on seration and headings, which breaks it down to level level five, I believe.

25:20

So you shouldn't have. You have to go that deep with this paper, but it is available if you need it.

25:27

But you can see how this formatting is important. It provides those road signs to your readers to let them know where they are in the paper.

25:35

And this is followed by the conclusion section. Again, centered bowl. So, we're going to go to the third and final major section of the paper, which is the references.

25:49

Notice the formatting change here. We go to what's called a hanging indentation. Everything. The second line is indented. You can do this with your paragraph formatting and word.

26:04

Hanging special formatting. For paragraphs instead of first line and dented, you've got a drop down option to select hanging indentation.

26:17

I use that to force this second line and all subsequent lines to be indented half an inch. You do not want to hit enter and tab.

26:30

That's not hanging indentation. Use that formatting option. Everything should be properly formatted in accordance with APA 7 guidance for references, including alphabetical order for each reference.

26:52

They're not. Not listed in here in the order they are used. They're alphabetized by the first letter of the first author's name.

27:03

Titles of articles, titles of papers. Are in sentence case regardless of how the author published them. The titles of publications are usually italicized.

27:29

And their capitalization. Some rules follow the rule follow the guidance of the organization that published it. And that's generally because of trademark guidance.

27:46

Right, so that the organizations generally have their publications. And so we stick with those APA seven sticks with those. And these are a couple of good examples for.

28:04

Diversity of your resources, so these are a couple of blog posts followed by a. A more formal, a peer reviewed article.

28:17

You can see how it's includes the volume number as I. A tall size to the issue number is not. It's followed by the page numbers.

28:27

Everything includes. A URL. Does not have to be a hyperlink. You can include hyperlinks if you want. You can just use URLs.

28:39

Standardization is important though. If you're going to hyperlink them, make sure that you hyperlink all of them. Alright. That's it.

28:52

That's all that's required. As soon as you have this much done for your paper, post it. There should be an option here in this step for you to post this draft, this milestone review.

29:09

You can also post it in the assignment section. There's an option here for your draft. You post it in here.

29:18

And I'll provide feedback. This is an ungraded assignment. So as soon as you're done, post it. That way you can move on with the rest of project two and complete your paper.

29:32

If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email. You text me. I posted my number that you can use.

29:41

To leave a voicemail or send a text message to. Now I'll get back to you if you don't hear from me or if you want.

29:50

If it's a question that you think everybody may find valuable. Post it in the ask the professor section in the discussions.

29:58

Alright, so if you scroll down to the. The second section here asked the professor. I have a question posted here and I'll get back to you.

30:07

Thanks.
