The above Value stream mapping is on saving neglected children. The starting point is the employees seeking approval for assistance. Once the approval is gotten, the police department is notified of the approval and goes ahead to save the child that is being neglected. At the end of the day, the customer that is the child ends up being happy. In total, the whole process takes approximately 5 hours and 30mins.

The above map is of how a child harassment report is processed in the Illinois State Families and Children Department. The person making the report makes the report to the department. The complaint is received and since there are many complaints of child harassment that reach the department on a daily basis, it takes two hours for the compliant to be actually looked at. Once the complaint is looked, it is investigated immediately. The investigation takes about 3 hours. Once the investigation is over, the investigation is analyzed immediately and is a process that takes 2 hours. After the analysis a report on the whole complaint is generated and it can be moved to the next process. In total, the whole process of receiving and investigating a child harassment report takes 12 hours

Just like any other department the Illinois State Families and Children Department is not free from complaints. The complaint processing begins when a complaint is lodged. The complainant fills an online complaint form which takes between 10 to 30 minutes to complete. Once the form is filled the complaint is received immediately and an investigation to the complaint is initiated. The investigation takes approximately 2hrs. Once the investigation is done an analysis of the investigation is done which is done instantly. The analysis as well takes 2 hours. After the analysis is over the report for the complaint starts getting processed and it takes approximately 2 hours for the process to be complete. After the report is generated it takes one hour for the complaint resolution process to begin. The complaint resolution process takes at most one hour. In total, the whole process of processing and resolving complaints against the department takes 8hrs and thirty minutes
