District Values

Values of a District

Introduction: This week you have learned about how the budget can reveal a lot regarding what a school, district, program or department values. You will now have an opportunity to apply what you have learned.

Instructions:

Take a look at your school district's budget - https://www.rsd.edu/departments/financial-services. In a 10-15 slide Powerpoint presentation, analyze and describe how your district's budget reveals its the goals and values. For example:

● What might be inferred about the district's values when the football team received funding with new uniforms, while Art teachers are being cut?

● What values are expressed when a district has to choose between much needed renovations for its older buildings and purchasing a new Math curriculum?

When developing your presentation, please make sure to only include your key ideas on the slides. Do not put some much verbiage on the slides that your audience can read your presentation. Use the presenter's notes section of each slide to provide the details of exactly what you will be saying to the audience. Please include a title slide and a slide with all of your references used. Keep in mind you are not submitting a video of you presenting, but rather just the presentation (slide deck) itself, so make sure it is clear to the reader/ reviewer.
