Claim: Animal Testing is inhumane and unethical. These animals have no right, and no say to

what they want or don’t want. They suffer pain from exposure to heavy and harsh chemicals that

I know no human would like to experience or even bare, so why should we test these animals

just for our benefit. Scientists expose them to a variety of chemicals that they don’t even know

what can happen. Therefore this topic is considered to be controversial considering that animal

testing is done in laboratories.

Support 1: Animal testing is inhumane because many of the animals that scientists use for their

experiments are primates. Also include cats, dogs, rats, mice, rabbits, pigs, horses, birds,

amphibians, and guinea pigs. If you have seen movies that show they do animal testing, you can

see how they have the animals locked up in cages and isolated the same things happen in reality.

These animals experience physical pain, deprivation, and emotional distress. Some animals are

cut open, poisoned, burned, irradiated by gasses, or shocked for human benefits.

Support 2: Each animal goes through a different experiment. For example, rabbits are tested to

make sure some makeup products are not harmful. These experiments on the rabbits are

inhumane because if the chemical used ended up being dangerous, then the rabbits' eyes

deteriorate, making their eyes red, leading to infection. There are different alternatives that

people can do to prevent animal testing. I've seen makeup products that are not tested on

animals, which people should be investing in.

Opposing View: Many people have different views on animal testing. The main reason some

people are for animal testing is that they are beneficial to people. Animal testing has helped with

vaccines, medications, transplant procedures, beauty products, and many more things. But still,

these animals should not be suffering for our benefits. We can invest in companies that can help

with many of these things, especially beauty products.
