1) Was the project context clearly described and illustrated?

Yes, the team explained well what their problem is. They have noticed a large amount of labor hours being spent in the decollation process. It might be beneficial to show how these numbers compare to other parts of the production system to better visualize why they chose the area they did to make improvements.

2) Are the objectives of the project and associated performance measures well defined?

Yes, they are looking at cycle time and production rate as their performance measures. These will be easy to track and will show how much improvement they are actually providing. If cycle time decreases and production rate increases it will show their changes to the decollation process is beneficial.

3) Is a quantitative IE analysis being conducted? Has the appropriate data been collected?

The data has been conducted and analysis is underway. Due to the coronavirus they are unable to implement their proposed solution on site so a simulation is in the process of being set up. This is still a great way to analyze their proposed idea as it will give an idea to how it would operate in the existing system.

4) Are preliminary results and recommendations based on analysis presented?

Based on future state projections and the value stream map they expect to see a 54% reduction in cycle time. Also they project annual labor cost savings between 50,000-75,000. The next step for the team is to prove these numbers with their simulation they plan on running.

5) Was the project schedule status provided? What needs to be done to ensure successful project completion?

In light of the circumstances we are all facing this team has a very good schedule moving forward. A few bumps have been hit with the inability to be on sight any more but they have a good plan set up for running simulations and virtual meetings to still complete the project to the best of their ability.
