In this assignment, you are tasked with delving deeper into a subject of interest to you. The topic you choose should be either a disease/condition, therapy, or health topic you are interested in learning more. For example, you could focus on a particular cancer like breast or prostate. Another example could be emerging therapies to autoimmune disorders. Whatever the topic you choose, it should be related to human health either individual or global in nature.

In this report you will want to include:

1) Detailed background on your topic of interest. This will include the history behind the topic and its discovery.

2) Why this topic is important to human health

3) Any unanswered questions about the topic (i.e. cause of the disease, any unknowns that could enhance therapies or lead to cures).

In this report, you will also find a scientific study related to this topic. This study could cover topics such as new therapies for a disease. Or if you are focusing on the therapies, it could be one that discusses the advantages or challenges with the therapy.

In this report, you will find and describe this scientific study (from a journal article) you have chosen in terms of the hypothesis, methods used, major findings and conclusions (just like in the first assignment). You will also provide your own opinion on if the study’s conclusions answered the question and why you think so (provide examples).

To find a scientific study, you can use https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov directly or start with a Google search and expand from there.

Finally, you will want to discuss if there are any aspects of your topic that you think that should still be addressed. An example of this would be issues such as side effects of a therapy and how this may help the condition itself but cause other major health issues.

Additional notes for this report:

1) This report should be minimum 5 pages (not including citations). Double spaced, typed.

2) Use APA style citations for any references to other studies or background or review of the topic. Formatting can be found: https://www.mendeley.com/guides/apa-citation-guide

3) Provide a copy of the main scientific study you describe in your report. (Upload the article)

4) Don’t be afraid to question anything you report on. I am looking for you to be able to critically examine aspects of a topic you are interested in. Including questions in your report you feel are not being addressed are encouraged.

5) Do not be afraid to look up jargon used in the studies you read. I am not expecting anyone to become experts, but don’t let jargon prevent you from understanding your topic.

6) MOST IMPOPORTANTLY: Grammar, spelling, and punctuation will be considered in the grading of this report.

In grading your reports, the main bulk of the grading will be the information you find and report. Rubrics will be included to know how important each part is:

1) 60% of the grade for the information presented

2) 30% including all the requirements (background information, why it is important, questions you feel should be address or is noted to be still unanswered, journal article analysis, including the journal article, citations used and in the correct format)

3) 10% grammar, spelling and punctuation.
